- You shall let the Lord build your house. Psalm 127:1 Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Hebrews 3:4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
- You shall build with wisdom. Proverbs 24:3-4 By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
- You shall never forget location, location, location. Deuteronomy 1:8 See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land the Lord swore he would give to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob--and to their descendants after them. Acts 17:26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.
- You shall consider the cost. Luke 14:28 Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
- You shall dwell in peace. Luke 10:5 When you enter a house, first say, “Peace to this house.” Isaiah 32:18 My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest. 1 Thessalonians 4:11 And to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you.
- You shall be thankful for what you have and not envy what your neighbor has. Philippians 4:11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
- You shall have your affairs in order before you endeavor to build. Proverbs 24:27 Put your outdoor work in order and get your fields ready; after that, build your house.
- You shall build on a firm foundation. Matthew 7:24-25. Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
- You shall give of yourself to others unselfishly. 1 Corinthians 10:24 No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
- You shall be kind, generous, and encouraging to all you meet. Proverbs 3:27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Proverbs 11:25 A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
